This 23-acre site located adjacent to the Snake River in Jackson Hole provides a glimpse into the delicate balance that exists between the river and the adjacent riparian lands. Where the river once moved freely providing moisture and nutrients that sustained the wetland/cottonwood forest, a series of levees now threaten the sustainability of the ecosystem. The design concept for this project centered on reintroduction of the moisture regime necessary to sustain the wetlands and mature cottonwood forest while integrating the house development with the site.
