The house site became an island in the forest incorporating reclaimed wood timbers, rusted steel and native plantings to marry the structures to the landscape. In awarding an Honor Award, the American Society of Landscape Architects noted that the project is “Incredibly engaging…takes advantage of the change of light and the climate with reflective water…nestled within the water environment…very light on the landscape…overall, just excellent.”
